mmmmm…..FOOD IS YUMMY

On Tuesday 23th June we talked to a school by the name of Claret, Manila Phillipines. The school is an all boys catholic school. I talked to the people about what time they start and finish school and how we get to school. I found the talk very interesting but at times it was hard to understand. Somethings that we talked about included school, sports and food.

For my September school holidays I went to the Melbourne Show, shopping, had a physio appointment, cleaned up my bedroom and watched television. At the Melbourne Show we saw the art and craft, cake decorating, went to see the sports centre and got showbags. Most of these events occured in thr first week which made my second week pretty boring. So that is pretty much all that happened.

Hey my name is Catherine and I am 15 years old. Some of things I enjoy doing include playing netball, watching AFL football, cooking, watching television, going shopping and spending time with my family and friends. Some of my dislikes include eating roasts, cleaning up and going to sheep and cattle sales. I have a pet Siamese cat named Cindy who I have had since I was about five years old. I also have 4 birds which I have only had for a dew years. My family also has another 4 cats, 2 dogs, chooks, pet lambs and occassionaly a few pet calves. I have a younger brother David who is a year younger than me who I mostly get along with. During winter I play netball for Hawkesdale Macarthur and during summer I play tennis for Minhamite.

I think that a quality studnet blog is when:

• there are lots of photos and some movies
• the posts are kept up to date
• there are widgets on the page
• there is a lot of colour

Yes there are lots of differences between Hawkesdale P-12 College and Ummal Quro. For example At Hawkesdale we start school at 9:00am and finish at 3:30pm where as Ummal Quro start at 7:00am and finish at 1:00pm. The girls and boys don’t see each other until thier graduation which is when they are about 17-18 years old. They have seperate classroms, playgrounds and dormeteries. The girls have to wear a Jilbab that covers their body except their face and palms. Ummal Quro is a boarding school and they have 40 people to one room. At their school they have to pray fives times a day at 5:00am, 12:00pm, 3:30pm, 6:00pm and 7:00pm. These prayers go for 5-10 minutes each. So overall there are a lot of differences between these two schools.

I learn by seeeing and feeling things and going on computers. I also learn by working in pairs or groups. I find it easier to learn like this because I can talk about things to other people and see and feel how things work and how they are put together.
